Optometrist & Co-owner
Born and educated in Brisbane, Gary is a graduate of QUT Optometry and Ocular Therapeutics. With over 30 years of experience, he’s proud to have been looking after the vision needs of the Redlands for decades.
After working in large corporate practices, Gary saw the need for more personal, flexible care. So in 2001, he teamed up with Catherine to create Eyecatcher Vision Care — a practice where people come first and no one feels like just a number.
Outside of work: You’ll find Gary working on his golf handicap and planning his next travel adventure (especially if it involves golf).
Co-Owner & Frame Styling Expert
Catherine brings over 25 years of experience in the optical industry, with a unique background in art, image consultancy, and even a stint as a teacher. Her passion lies in helping clients express their personality through eyewear, and she’s not afraid to suggest something a little unexpected if she knows it will look amazing.
She loves turning eyewear shopping into an enjoyable, confidence-building experience — not a chore.
Outside of work: Catherine enjoys time with her wonderfully eccentric family and loves hearing about her customers’ travel stories almost as much as she loves travelling herself.
Optical Dispenser & Lens Expert
Kerryn was once a customer who loved the service so much, she joined the team. Since 2004, she’s been helping clients make informed, comfortable choices when it comes to frames and lenses. With lifelong experience wearing both contacts and glasses, she understands how personal the right choice can be.
She’s passionate about giving every client clear options, helpful advice, and a stress-free experience.
Outside of work: Kerryn’s a nature-lover with a busy home full of horses, cats, lorikeets, ducks, chickens, and an understanding husband and daughters.
Eyewear Stylist & Dispenser
Kim joined Eyecatcher in 2008 and has a real eye for finding frames that compliment each person’s style. Whether you’re after something artistic or timeless, she’ll help you discover frames you’ll feel great in.
She believes eyewear should make you feel confident and reflect who you are — not just help you see better.
Outside of work: Kim’s a surf lifesaver, netball coach, and lighthouse enthusiast. She knows first-hand the importance of good sunglasses and enjoys exploring Australia with her husband and daughters.
